Emily Telford
Support Coordinator - Melbourne West
I chose to be a Support Coordinator as I could see the potential that the NDIS could have on people’s lives, and felt it utilised my skills in helping individuals and the scheme reach its full potential. I hold a Masters in Social Work and have worked as a Support Coordinator from the best part of 8 years – starting out in the Barwon trial site at the beginning of the NDIS. I bring to the role a sense of curiosity and an ability to think outside of the box. Just because something hasn’t been done before does not mean we shouldn’t give it a try!
My favourite part of the role is seeing people do the things that they thought were previously impossible, and daring not to give up on a dream. I am constantly amazed at people’s strength and resilience, and feel very privileged to witness this in action.
